AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
These include:
to create
awareness of the potentials of village poultry in national development
as a poverty reduction strategy
- to introduce to school children the keeping of poultry as a commercial activity
- to encourage school children to improve poultry keeping by establishing
‘School Poultry Network Clubs’ in primary, junior, and senior secondary
schools
- to educate children on the rational use of the environment where the natural
feed resources of the village are available
- to organize training workshops for children and women to acquire employable
skills in smallholder family production in order to stop urban drift
- to incubate in school children good practice in animal agriculture
- to use small scale commercial poultry as a strategy in poverty alleviation
