AIMS AND OBJECTIVES



These include:

  1. to create awareness of the potentials of village poultry in national development as a poverty reduction strategy
  2. to introduce to school children the keeping of poultry as a commercial activity
  3. to encourage school children to improve poultry keeping by establishing ‘School Poultry Network Clubs’ in primary, junior, and senior secondary schools
  4. to educate children on the rational use of the environment where the natural feed resources of the village are available
  5. to organize training workshops for children and women to acquire employable skills in smallholder family production in order to stop urban drift
  6. to incubate in school children good practice in animal agriculture
  7. to use small scale commercial poultry as a strategy in poverty alleviation
